William Frederick Biffen (1853-1918).

William was born to William and Ann Biffen (nee Halford) in 1853, in Hackney, London, England.

William was baptized on the 16th March 1856 in Stoke Newington.

It is assumed that William grew up on Lordship Lane (changed to Red Lion Lane and then back to Lordship Lane) in Stoke Newington, as this is where his parents were living on the 1851 census.

In 1861, William and family were living on the Howard Road in Stoke Newington.

In 1867, William's father William passed away aged 44 years. 

In the 1871 census, William, his mother and siblings had moved back to Lordship Lane (although it was by now called Red Lion Lane) to live with his grand father. His occupation is listed as 'Stationers Porter'.

In 1876, William married Mary Ann Nicholson (1855-1926, born in Littlehampton, Sussex) in Islington, London, England. The couple had 3 children, William, Harold and Maud.

Between 1881 and 1901, William and family were living on Buttesland Street in Shoreditch, London. First and number 46 and number 55 in 1901. William listed his occupation as a 'Warehouse Foreman'.

By 1911, William and family were living at 18 Leopold Street in Mile End Old Town in London, England. William listed his occupation as 'Secretary'.

In 1918, William passed away in Whitechapel, London, aged 64 years.
