NEW WEBSITE DESIGN

Hello and welcome to the all-new Enock Family History website.

Since the site's conception in August 2013, I have employed Microsoft Frontpage as my preferred web development program. It has served me well over the last 4+ years, helping me to send my research global, but the time has come to part ways. The Internet has changed so much since my Frontpage studies at school, that it is no longer suitable for future goals.

Over the last couple of months I have become acquainted with Dreamweaver, and have given myself a crash course in CSS and JavaScript coding in hope of creating a more fitting website.

So, what changes have been made? The majority of changes have one thing in common: optimisation.

1) Pages have been configured to automatically fit the majority device widths

2) Sections have been hidden to prevent crashes. Information is loaded in chunks rather than all at once

3) Hi-res images have been removed and replaced with a slide show of lower-red images. Links to hi-res images are available through slide shows. Not only does this help to reduce download times and crashes, it looks more professional

The main feature of the new site is the zoomable (and moveable) family tree. This will aid navigation, and connections will be clearer. I will eventually incorporate links (or hotspots) into the image to access other Enock relative profiles. I am currently drawing the full family tree, and will upload when complete.

Completing the "zoomable" family tree.

I have other additions in the pipeline, and will add them to the site when they come to fruition.

Thanks for visiting.
