Description | Transcription: Thank you very much for sending your manuscript MISTER JOSEPH to Jim Reynolds, our managing director, who is at present in the States. We were very impressed by the honesty, the detailed accuracy and the warmth and sensitivity of your book: you have more than adequately paid tribute to the 'courage, generosity and enduring friendship' of those who helped in your escape. However I am afraid that we have decided against making you an offer to publish your book because we feel that the book would not be commercially viable, and in returning it to you I hope you will understand that it is simply for this reason that we cannot undertake to publish an otherwise compelling and very human document. |
