Title | Letter to Lorna Frazer |

Description | Transcription: Dear Lorna, I have just had the pleasure of having an of prep. school friend -- last saw each other in 1915 -- come to live near us. He and his wife are both experienced authors and have had several books published. They have given me some excellent criticisms of Monsieur Joseph saying that the material is excellent and pointing out just where I have gone wrong in the writing. So I am heavily engaged in re-writing the book -- mainly the first few chapters -- with great confidence and hoping for results. They have also given me the name of a suitable agent to handle the book, one if he feels it is not his cup of tea will give me the name of a better agent. I believe you have two copies of the book with maps? There are 15 maps total to each manuscript -- with two of Map no. 4 in each. No 4 has Loos and Lille, in the R.H. top corner and Carvin and Dourges in the R.H. bottom corner. Could I trouble you to remove the 30 maps (4 of No. 4) and send them to me? The manuscripts are not worth worrying about. I may be wrong about your having two copies as my records of where the copies are is not up to date. Do hope you are keeping 100% fit and enjoying life. We see Bernard and Marianna every now and again but M. does not seem to make much progress. |
