Title Letter from Joseph Guy Enock to Jane Whittingham Enock
Date 6th July 1941
Description

Notes are not in date order.

Joe writes about his journey back to the UK from Lisbon on board the largest and newest seaplane coming from America. The plane landed in Foynes, Western Ireland, on Sunday morning and Joe was taken across Ireland by coach to Dublin where the party stopped for lunch. Joe flew back to England on an Irish Republican plane which landed in Bristol.

Joe recalls the events prior to his capture, the forced march through France towards Germany, his escape from the line in Lille, and his meeting with Monsieur Gravelin, the first of many French folk that assisted with his escape from France in 1940
